Caring for you

We try to make your journey with us as hassle free as possible and take care of all the administration side of things. When it comes to payments, there are several ways you can pay for your sessions:

  • EFTPOS. We use HICAPS machine for your convenience
  • Cash
  • PayPal
  • Medicare. We can offer your rebate on the spot to save you going to their office or online

Of course, we are also registered with many organisations to improve the accessibility of our services.  Some of these include:

  • Medicare Australia (MBS and DVA provider)

  • Primary Health Networks (PHN, Brisbane MIND, ATAPS, Medicare Locals, GP Partners)
  • ATAPS Suicide Prevention Program Provider
  • Veteran and Veteran Families Counselling Service (VVCS)
  • EAP Provider (Drake, Gryphon, WorkPlus)
  • Medibank, Beyond the Blue, QComp and WorkCover

After discussions with private health insurances, we came to understand that the complexity and the multiplicity of individual covers is too great for us to manage.  The advice we received from these companies is that you discuss your eligibility with them first.  Our HICAPS machine is geared to access private health insurance rebates. Medicare benefits are available for certain services provided by eligible allied health professionals to eligible people.

To be eligible, patients need to be referred by their GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician to receive psychological services. Please note that due to recent changes in the federal budget, some of the criteria may have been changed.” For more information, please contact medicareaustralia.gov.au Here at ME, we try our best to help our Clients and protect them. When we structure our fees, this is our primary consideration. We hope that you find our fee structure convenient and that ultimately it will help your work on achieving your life changes. Please note that we are flexible and encourage you to raise any financial concerns you have.


Prior to scheduling your first session, you are requested to make a $50 refundable deposit. This deposit is fully refundable at the end of your treatment. Your deposit moneys can be used to cover your outstanding fees. In such a case, you will need to deposit additional funds prior to scheduling your next appointment.

This is done as a result of pas experiences where Clients were not ready to undertake the treatment, went ahead and scheduled their first session, but did not show up. Such events disadvantage other Clients, who could’ve been scheduled for that time and make it difficult for us to keep the costs of treatment down.

You do not have to have a referral to access our services. If you are referred, there may be a variety of programs that we may work with. We are registered with Medicare, DVA, VVCS, Brisbane MIND, Medicare Locals, GP Partners, ATAPS, Suicide Prevention Program, EAP provider, Beyond the Blue, WorkCover, QComp, and many others including private insurances. Under certain programs, you will be expected to incur out of pocket expenses. Some of these can be recovered, for example when meeting the Medicare Safety Net threshold or under some private covers. Late Cancellations

When booking an appointment, you are purchasing this hour. Please ensure you can commit to attending this session. Please notify your psychologist at least 2 working days in advance if you are unable to come in for your appointment. This way, we can reallocate your session to someone else that needs to be seen. Please understand that we care about our Clients and seek to allocate our time and resources in the best way possible. If we do not receive at least 2 days notice, your account will be charged at $50 to cover our costs. No notice, or less than 24hr notice will cost the full session price. What if I cannot afford it?

At ME, we understand that it may sometimes be difficult financially to access treatment.  We also realise that at times of turmoil we may sustain financial setbacks.  ME is dedicated to assisting our Clients break the cycle where their financial concerns hold them back from effectively addressing the underlying problem, which may be at the root of the financial concerns in the first place.  Psychology is a helping profession, and we aim to be able to assist everyone who asks us for help. 

You may also wish to consider that charges in excess of the Medicare benefit for our services are typically the Client’s responsibility.  However, such out-of-pocket costs will count toward the Medicare safety net for that Client.  Once you meet a Medicare Safety Net threshold, you may be eligible for additional Medicare benefits for out-of-hospital MBS services for the rest of the calendar year.
